Privacy Policy
LAST UPDATED 18 OCTOBER 2026
- We collect what we need to run Redprint: your email, your password (stored scrambled), and the plans, notes and marks you add.
- We don't show adverts, we don't track you across the web, and we never sell your information.
- When you ask the AI to draft a plan or a quiz, the text involved is sent to our AI provider so it can answer. Your email and password are not sent.
- Your plans are private. Other Redprint users can't see them.
- You can delete your account yourself, any time, from Settings, and ask us for a copy of your information.
The full policy is below.
1. Who is responsible for your information
Graphics & Graphite Ltd (company number 15448210, registered office 33 Marriott Road, London, N10 1JJ) runs Redprint and is the "controller" of your personal information under UK data protection law. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), registration number ZB771844. Contact us at support@redprintapp.com about anything in this policy.
2. What we collect
| What | Details |
|---|---|
| Account details | Your email address; your password (we only keep a scrambled version that can't be turned back into the password); whether you have confirmed your email; and when you agreed to our Terms and Privacy Policy and which version. If you turn on two-factor sign-in we keep the secret needed to check your authenticator codes, and if you add a passkey we keep its public part. Fingerprints, face scans and device PINs are never sent to us; they stay on your device. If you tell us you'd be interested in a possible paid plan, we keep that, where in the app you said so, and whether you asked for one email about it. |
| What you add | Plan and step titles, goals and descriptions, any syllabus text you paste in, due dates, notes, links, files you upload as proof (up to 10 MB each), your topic ticks, quiz answers and scores, and exam marks and target grades. |
| Settings | Whether daily reminders are on, the hour you want them and your time zone. |
| Usage records | How many AI generations you have used this month, and, for each AI request, which feature it was and roughly what it cost us. These help us enforce the monthly allowance and keep costs under control. |
| Technical information | When you use the site, your IP address and basic browser information are processed to deliver pages, keep the service secure (for example, slowing down repeated requests and failed sign-in attempts) and fix faults. Logs are kept briefly. |
We don't ask for your name, date of birth, phone number or location, and we don't collect payment details (Redprint is free). Please don't type sensitive information, or personal details about other people, into your plans or notes.
3. Why we use it, and our legal reasons
- To provide Redprint to you (creating your account, saving your plans, running quizzes and reviews). The legal basis is that it is needed to provide the service you asked for.
- To keep Redprint safe and working (security, preventing abuse, backups, limiting AI use, fixing faults). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure, reliable service.
- To email you. Emails the service needs (confirming your address, resetting your password) are part of providing the service. Daily reminder emails are optional and only sent if you turn them on, and the same goes for the one email you can ask for when a paid plan is ready; the legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw by turning them off in Settings or taking yourself off the list.
- To meet legal obligations where the law requires it.
We don't use your information for advertising, we don't build marketing profiles, and we don't make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
4. The AI features
When you ask Redprint to draft a plan or write a quiz, it sends the text needed for that request to our AI provider, Anthropic, which returns the result. That text is what you typed or pasted (your goal or syllabus), or, for a quiz, the title and description of the step and its sub-steps. We do not send your email address, password or uploaded files. Anthropic processes this text on our behalf under its commercial terms and may keep it for a limited period for safety and abuse prevention.
5. Who else handles your information
We use these service providers to run Redprint. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.
- Fly.io: hosts the app and its database (we use their London region).
- Tigris Data: stores backup copies of the database and uploaded files.
- Resend: sends our emails, so it handles your email address and the email content.
- Anthropic: provides the AI used to draft plans and quizzes (see above).
- Google: provides our support mailbox, so it handles emails you send to us.
We never sell your information. We will only share it with anyone else if the law requires it, to protect people's safety or our rights, or if our business changes hands (in which case your information stays protected by this policy or you will be told of any change).
6. Sending information outside the UK
Some of these providers process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards the law recognises, such as an adequacy arrangement, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK addendum to standard contractual clauses, so that your information stays protected to a UK standard.
7. How long we keep it
- We keep your account and content until you delete your account.
- When you delete your account, your plans, notes, files, quiz results, marks, settings and usage counts are deleted from the live service straight away. Backup copies are replaced on a rolling basis, so remnants can remain in backups for up to about 30 days before they are overwritten.
- Records of the cost of AI requests are kept for our accounting, but once your account is deleted they are no longer linked to you.
- Emails you send to our support address are kept for as long as needed to help you and for a short time afterwards.
- Technical logs are kept briefly, then removed.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- be told how your information is used (this policy);
- see the information we hold about you, and get a copy;
- have mistakes corrected (you can edit most of it yourself in Redprint);
- have your information deleted (use Delete my account in Settings);
- ask us to limit how we use it, or object to our use of it;
- receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent you've given (for example, turn off reminders).
To ask for a copy of your information or use any other right, email support@redprintapp.com from the address on your account. We will reply within one month. If you aren't happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
9. Children and young people
Redprint is for people aged 13 and over, and many of our users are teenagers, so we've tried to make this policy easy to read and to build privacy into the service by default:
- There are no adverts, no tracking across other websites, and no selling of information.
- Your plans are private. There are no public profiles, and other users can't see or contact you.
- Reminder emails are off until you choose to turn them on.
- We collect only what the service needs, and you can delete your account yourself.
If you are under 13 you must not use Redprint, and if we discover an account belonging to someone under 13 we will delete it. If you are a parent or carer and have a question or concern, please email us.
10. Cookies
Redprint only uses cookies that are essential for it to work: one that keeps you signed in (and remembers you if you choose "Remember me"), and ones that protect forms from forgery. We don't use analytics or advertising cookies, so there is no cookie pop-up to accept. These essential cookies are set by us and are not used to track you.
11. Keeping your information safe
Pages are sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, passwords are stored scrambled, the disk that holds the database is encrypted, backup copies are protected by access keys, repeated wrong passwords and repeated email requests are limited, and access to the systems is restricted. No online service is perfectly secure; if there is a breach that puts your rights at risk we will tell you and the ICO as the law requires.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If a change matters to you, we will tell you (by email or in Redprint) before it applies. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
